• Keypad works intermittently, more often on cool mornings. This is classic control board solder fatigue. Heat builds up inside the operator box during Encino summers, and micro-cracks in the board connections expand and contract. It’ll get worse, not better.
• Remote was in the truck, now the gate won’t open from the street at all. The radio receiver inside the operator has failed or the antenna wire has corroded at the terminal. We usually replace the receiver, not the whole board, and you keep your existing remotes paired.

That’s real diagnostics, and it costs you nothing but ten minutes. But when it comes to swapping a control board or pulling new wire, call a professional.
